My Students
My twenty-one 4-year old students are eager to learn and use technology while learning, however, we need help for our whole group instruction times while using technology.
I currently have twenty-one 4-year old students that are all on target developmentally and very excited to learn new things.
Over half of the class is ready to learn to read and write but struggle with staying focused when it comes to whole group activities. They struggle because they cannot “see” what I am showing them on our iPads. My students are eager to learn, but struggle to grasp concepts in reading, writing, and math at whole group instruction time. Demonstration of the task often happens during whole group time, and many become disengaged because they simply cannot see the activity.
My Project
I am requesting an Apple TV with a remote which will change how students are able to perform in class because they will have a visual example of what we are working on. Once this project is funded, I will be able to use the Apple TV to airplay resources from our classroom iPad, through our SMARTBoard, and to the class! They will learn an abundance of information that is available in the app store, as well as being able to stream videos from Netflix and iTunes. Your donations will help my classroom by giving my students access to the technology that they currently do not have access to.
By having the capability to airplay apps and videos from our classroom iPad, I will be able to integrating technology into the classroom and have students that are very engaged in what they are learning!
