"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better; it's not." This year our school theme is Dr. Seuss, and no one tells it better than the Lorax! Please help our classroom cut down on its paper usage and save some trees!
Hello everyone!
I am a fourth grade teacher working for a high poverty school district located in rural mid-Missouri. Our small elementary school provides education to a little over 400 students (K-4).
My classroom consists of 21 bright and enthusiastic learners. My shining jewels enjoy working with partners and in groups. They love getting out of their seats and moving around. Lastly, they go crazy when they are given the opportunity to ditch the paper and pencil! (This is where you come in!)
My Project
Every week, I set aside time to make copies for the following week. You would not believe how much paper I use! It truly is an embarrassing number! Not only do I not like using that much paper, but my students don't like it either. They love it when they are given a break from paper and pencil work. These dry erase boards and erasers will provide my students with the opportunity to practice their math and reading standards in a different way. They will use these whiteboards in math and reading stations. They will also use them during whole-group and small-group instruction. These boards will even be used during intervention and review sessions.
These boards will add variety to my students' learning, making learning more fun and engaging.
In addition, these whiteboards will drastically cut down on paper usage in our classroom. Students will see first-hand how to reuse and reduce. Please help these students learn the importance of conserving our resources!
