I would like to see my students become more comfortable using technology in all academic areas. We use technology in math, reading, word work, and sometimes writing. I like for the kids to use technology for researching topics for Genius Hour, Social Studies, and Science.
My school is very pro technology.
We try very hard to introduce different forms of technology to the students. My class is very hard working and they love to use technology for their in class assignments. Not all of my students can afford a device to bring to school. It would be wonderful to provide my students with devices for school work.
My Project
My students will be able to research their own topics of interest for their Genius Hour project. Students will also be able to research Science and Social Studies topics and share with other via the Internet. I would like to see my students post to blogs and our class Facebook page to share their learning successes, rather than always having me share for them. I think they will take more pride in sharing it themselves.
I hope to see my students take charge in their learning by research topics they are interested in rather than always topics I or our curriculum chooses.
I like to see them teach others strategies or topics and to engage with other students online.
