This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
THE "AH-HA" MOMENT. I love the excitement on my students faces when they have an "ah-ha" moment (understanding the material). Allowing each student within the classroom to have their own head phones would be an asset in my classroom to help students have more of those "ah-ha" moments.
I have the sweetest, hard working, extremely helpful, and respectful students not only to myself but as well to their peers and others around them.
We have a great group of students who work well with others and are very uplifting to one another. Just the other day I have a student within my classroom who is not on grade level in the beginning of the year he couldn't even write his name. His classmates always encourage him to do his best and now he has come such a long way in such a short amount of time he can write his first and last name and write and count all the way up to 100.( I know that might seem absurd to many of you but the school district I work in the surrounding areas are struggling). The students come to school hungry, not having proper clothing, holes in their shoes, no jackets. These students have been exposed to so many things that education is many times the last thing there parents and guardians think of.
My Project
The requested headphones will be used every day within our classroom. Within our district every student must log 30 minutes of imagine learning (computer program) every day. Imagine learning is a ELL program half of my students are ELL students and many of them do not have head phones the program allows you to listen to the lessons. This would help take my ELL students to the next level and help them feel more confident speaking and writing English. The rest of my students are also using Imagine learning program the head phones will also have a lasting effect on those students as well. As I mentioned many of the students within our school are struggling and education has been put on the back burner. This trickles down in all aspects of the education world many of my students are not on grade level imagine learning helps bride some of the gaps found in many students that are not on grade level.
This donation will help improve many aspects of my classroom please help change the lives of the students at J.A.
Rogers. Help them become confident, self directing, have more knowledge, and bridge the gaps that will allow my students and future students to succeed and be better citizens.
