Can you imagine providing the necessary stimulation for active children by encouraging movement, but yet not disrupting other styles of learning? To actively learn you must use your whole body and I have personally seen how these chairs help to develop life-long active learners!
We are a classroom of very active first grade students who like to wiggle and move as we learn.
Although we love to be in motion when we can some tasks require us to work at our desks. Working at desks can be difficult for students who are more active than others. It is my passion to meet the needs of all my students.
My Project
We will use these ball chairs for differentiated seating for any child that feels the need to move while working. These ball chairs give students an outlet to move and be in control of their body while working on a task. All students will benefit from these ball chairs, students who don't need them will not be distracted excessive movement. Any students who do need them will be able to move while being in control.
I've seen the benefits of these ball chairs first hand and can't wait to have more so that all my students have access to them at all times.
Students work harder and are more confident in their work when they have an outlet for movement. Helping them become the best learner they can be is my life long goal. These ball chairs are a strategy to help struggling students.
