My students need number lines, magnetic counting tools, number theme books, hands on number grids, and headphones for interactive Math and ELA stations.
Every morning we start off with language development. We greet each other, talk about our goals and objectives, and jump right in to learning and practicing what we have learned.
After language we move into math. The students explore a topic, ask questions, and then complete practice stations.
My Students are primarily English Language Learners.
They attend an Urban school and every student in the school receives free breakfast, lunches, and snacks. They all come from low income households. I have African American, Somalian, Hispanic and Caucasian students in my room.
My Project
The materials will help the students show independence, gain stamina and provide opportunities for problem solving. The activities asked for will be used as practice stations. After the students learn a skill they will be asked to practice it with a partner or independently.
The math materials will support student learning. This unit we will be exploring how to add and subtract numbers. The materials we are asking for will provide my students with hands on experiences, making learning more in depth and ideas more tangible.
The ELA materials will allow the students an opportunity to practice their phonics knowledge and gain an understanding of to breakdown words first to read them before being able to move on to writing them.
Donations will make a huge difference in my classroom.
I will be able to get the students equipment they need and provide them with the best learning opportunities. This will give them an equal change to succeed!
