My students need a classroom set of All Quiet on the Western Front. We are studying WWI and I would like to assign the book as supplemental reading.

My Students

Through teaching World History my goal is to transport students back in time using primary sources to form an understanding of how significant events came to happen and how they are still affecting our lives today.

My World History students are 10th graders from a small southwest Missouri town.

Most have not traveled far from their hometown and have been exposed to little diversity. Part of my job is making the world outside of the town accessible to them, through exposure to things that are different from what they have experienced.

My Project

I am asking for a classroom set of All Quiet on the Western Front. This novel was written by a Erich Maria Remarque and is based on his experience as a young German soldier during WWI. The novel gives students a first hand account of WWI from the perspective of a German.

Donations to buy a classroom set of the novel will allow me to continue to enhance curriculum.

This novel paints an incredible first hand account of trench warfare and how far reaching the grasp of war is.
