My students need dissection materials(Shark Double, Fetal Pig, Sheep Heart, Flex Pad Refill, and Scalpels) so we can do our end of the year Dissection lab, which supports our learning of body systems.
My 8th grade class loves to do labs! This year, for their end of the year dissection lab, they have chosen to dissect fetal pigs, sharks, and sheep hearts. Yikes! Gross, yet fascinating, and I can't wait for them to put their knowledge to the test! Let the learning and exploring begin!
My 8th graders love to do labs!
They are especially excited about learning human body systems and really excited about their dissection lab. Fun Tip: Want (most of) your students excited about organ systems and organs? Promise to let them play with dead stuff (and make them identify elements of what they've learned while their doing it.); it works every time. Some are a bit squeamish and I do have 1 or 2 kids that opt out, but most of the students love this lab! Unfortunately my budget doesn't cover the cost, so we need your help! Thank you!
My Project
We will be dissecting specimen and identifying organ systems, and their functions for the organism. Also, we will identify specific organs, the system the organ belongs to, and it's overall function. Each group will have different specific lab questions that they will have to answer, as well.
Please help support the learning goals/objectives of my students and make my life a little less stressful!
My students have talked about this lab for 2 years, since I first started the tradition. Unfortunately, it's also a lab that my school budget doesn't fully cover, since a lot of it is spent on other lab and engineering supplies. My students have waited patiently for their chance to dissect and I don't want to let them down! Please help me get them their materials! Thank you!!
