Ms. Belger from Jennings MO is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a couch for the reading area and individual seat cushions for independent reading time.

“I’m glad we had the times together just to laugh and sing a song, seems like we just got started and then before you know it, the times we had together were gone.” – Dr. Seuss This quotes reminds me that each year I get to be the teacher of some of the most amazing little people.
There are 23 very busy and active first graders in my class.
The majority of my students came to me reading below a first grade level. However they are eager to reach the goals that they have set for themselves. Our classroom is very student-centered and student-driven. Students have multiple times throughout the day to independently practice newly introduced skills. I have created an environment of independent thinkers and achievers. I call them my Star Students, and I am their Star Teacher.
The reading couch will be a lovely addition to our cozy reading area. The couch would be a great place to share a book with a friend. The "my space" cushions will allow the students to have a nice, soft place to sit when they are spread out around the classroom reading and/or working. We do not have carpeted floors and these cushions are perfect for sitting on. As I said before, my students have multiple times throughout the day to independently practice newly introduced skills.
These items will enhance our classroom environment.
The students will be even more delighted to be in a warm, bright, and cozy classroom. You will help create a place where students feel comfortable learning.
