We have a student-created mural on our classroom wall that says Explore, Dream, Create. This really illustrates what we do in our classroom. We do passion projects, robotics, coding and designing. We wonder, investigate and make. We want to do more!
My students are GREAT!
My students are 2nd-8th graders identified as gifted. We are a small school in a rural area. The elementary students are in our classroom for 2 1/2 hours per week and the middle school students are in our classroom an hour a day. They love design challenges and problem-solving. They are excited about learning coding and robotics. They want to learn more and follow their passions. The gifted class is designed to help them reach their full potential and work at the level that challenges them.
My Project
This year we got a Dash and Dot robot and my students are excited about learning coding and programming. They want to learn more with and about technology. Right now the students have to share my personal iPad to program Dash and Dot. These 6 iPads would give my students more opportunities to design, create movies, learn more coding, program robots and research their passions.
These iPads will increase the time each student can spend learning to code and program the robots.
Also, students will be able to use these for passion projects to create movies or other multimedia presentations to share ideas, research and creations.
