My students have a love for technology and they learn best from the various learning modalities. Not only do the students express their individuality in the use of technology, the students also enjoy learning with their peers. Technology is a great way to help students reach their yearly academic goals.
I teach students in an urban school district.
We are a Title 1 school district and 95% of the students qualify for free and reduced meals. The school populations includes 80% African Americans, 10% Caucasians, and 10% from other countries. Our school focus is to teach the students business skills. The school's goal is to include all students, especially, students with unique learning styles. I teach Physical Science, Physics, and Biology. My students have various disabilities which include specific learning disabilities to Autism. Our school district has adopted the New Common Core Standards. We are incorporating advanced technology to help the students master the Common Core Standards. Our goal is to help the students master the skills in each of their Core subject areas.
In the classroom, students will be able to use the tablets to enhance their educational studies. The students will be able to have the same learning experience together. They will learn new skills, or review previous assessments through the use of advanced technology. The students will enjoy being engaged through the use of technology. Students normally seem more relaxed and familiar with assessments on a computer. The tablets will also help the students overcome their anxiety of testing. Lastly, the students will also use the tablets to view new materials and concepts, especially, difficult materials that the students do not have a clear understanding of. The students will be able to use a dictionary to get a better understanding of the written text. Lastly, the students will all be smarter together.
My students will learn their new academic lessons and Common Core Standards with a thorough understanding.
The students will have the same learning experience as their peers in the regular class setting, with the tablets as an educational modifier. Receiving the tablets will help the students get better grades and advanced training at the same time.
