Hello everyone!
I am a third/fourth grade teacher working for a high poverty school district located in rural mid-Missouri. Our small elementary school provides education to a little over 400 students (K-4).
My classroom consists of 19 bright and enthusiastic learners. My shining jewels enjoy working with partners and in groups. They love getting out of their seats and moving around. Lastly, they go crazy when they are given the opportunity to use technology! (This is where you come in!)
My Project
The iPad and case that we are requesting will be used in all subject areas. Students will use the iPad in math and literacy centers to reinforce concepts previously taught. The iPad will also be used for intervention. When a student is struggling with a concept, they will use a corresponding app to better master that skill. Students will be able to use the iPad to read books which are not available in the classroom. Furthermore, the iPad will be used during our Project Based Learning block. During this block, students will use the iPad to conduct research for their projects. They will then use the iPad to create advertisements for their projects and videos of their findings. In addition, the iPad will be used as a dictionary and thesaurus during Writer's Workshop. Overall, the iPad will enhance learning in the classroom by deepening student engagement and understanding!
