My students LOVE using technology, especially during our Daily 5 rotations. Most of my students do not have Internet access at home, so I feel that it is important to be able to have this opportunity here at school. Using iPads for educational literacy and art activities would be so special!
My school has over 93% free and reduced lunch rates.
This means that our students usually do not have access to iPads or computers at home, so using iPads at school for literacy centers and games would be so special. Our school really loves to integrate technology, but as a first year teacher, I have limited resources to make this happen for my students. We do have a few computers in every classroom, but unfortunately I do not have enough technology for every student.
My Project
With iPads, my students who are at the emerging reading stage will use resources such as Starfall, Raz-Kids, Sight Word practice, and several others. There are new resources coming out almost daily that my students will have access to with these iPads. I want to give my students the opportunity to explore and learn from technology, as we are in an ever evolving world where technology is a huge part of it.
Donations for this project will make a HUGE difference in my classroom.
My students are so deserving of these iPads, as most of them do not have access to any technology except for what we use in the classroom. My students are always eager to learn and technology helps engage all of the different learners in my class!
