My students thrive on completing coursework that involves technology. They always are wanting more and wanting to explore things they have never been introduced to, be it topics or apps!
My students are seventh graders and live in a VERY rural area.
Most students do not have the ability to access the Internet because of this. Most of what technology they have comes from school. Our school consists of around 250 students K-12 and our free and reduced rate is almost 70%. Though our school tries, we cannot keep up with demands.
My Project
If I am able to get these two Chromebooks in my classroom, learning will explode! Right now we have some, but not enough for each of my 22 7th graders. We do a lot, but I am two shy of having a class set. Now, they do partner work on the devices, which is great sometimes. But I could individualize instruction on a whole new level if we all had the same device and capabilities.
Donations to this project will change the entire spectra of my classroom and my students' outlook.
They will each have a Chromebook to use at school and can collaborate together using digital tools, instead of simple paring and partnering work. They will Google apps and extensions to further their understanding and actually enjoy classwork!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
