This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are naturally curious and inquisitive. I want to be able to give my students opportunities to learn, grow, and become leaders for tomorrow.

My students come from very diverse families.

At my school, we have 85% of the students receiving free and reduced price lunch. Some struggle to make ends meet, while others are in transition living with extended family members until they can find a place of their own. Despite the challenges that my students face, they come to school excited and look forward to a place with consistency and stability.

My Project

Children learn best when learning is fun! My students are naturally curious and love technology. Time For Kids is a weekly classroom news magazine that will motivate my students to read. The Time For Kids App allows students to access features that will increase their reading comprehension while allowing them to have access to current events.

My students are naturally curious about the world around them.

Having a subscription to Time For Kids will allow my students to not only become better readers, but to also become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
