Reading is a new adventure in Kindergarten! It sparks the love of learning.
My students are wonderful and fabulous five year olds.
They are thrilled to begin reading once the school year begins.
Students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds, but all work together to make a community. My students love coming to school each day and work hard to be their best self!
My Project
My students read independently each day. They start reading for 5 minutes each day and build up to 30 minutes! I am proud of them. To increase their reading ability, I am requested leveled texts that have similar characters to the books I share with the class. These familiar characters will give each student a super reading power while diving into newer reading levels. The requested books have a range of reading levels to reach all students.
This project will create a buzz about reading in my classroom.
It will push my students to become better readers and encourage them to continue reading well beyond my classroom and Kindergarten.
