My students need to remember the miracle that occurred for our Kansas City Royals in October by owning their very own copy of Grab Your Crown by Krista Boan.

My Students
Winning the World Series was a remarkable triumph for our city. Our district canceled school that day and many of my students were able to go to the World Series parade with their families. This is something they'll remember forever.
My students are second graders, seven and eight year olds, in an elementary school in Kansas City, Missouri.
Our school is ten minutes away from Kauffman Stadium, home of our Kansas City Royals. I have twenty-eight kids in my class, and at least half were able to attend the parade in October celebrating our World Series win.
My Project
I would be thrilled to give each of my second graders a picture book in memory of the amazing October we spent together as a class. They will keep this picture book for years and years. I hope that one day they will read it to their own children. The World Series win was huge for our community, I want them to always remember that.
This project will make a difference because most of my students will never get their hands on this book otherwise.
This book will be in their families for years to come. They will always be able to remember the amazing season we had as Kansas City Royals, and what that did for our community. For one day, our entire city shut down for the parade and "turned blue." I never want them to forget that.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
