Students can all learn and can all love to read if you can put the right books in their hands. I believe it's crucial for students to have a wide variety of reading materials available that meet the curriculum while still encouraging students to love to read.
I have a class of 19 students with very different backgrounds.
One thing remains true for all of my students- for them to get the most out of our reading time, they need to have a variety of books readily available to meet their interests and reading levels.
My Project
Coming up this semester, my students will be immersed in an informational unit. It would be awesome if the students could be involved in book clubs to further their understanding of topics such as famous Americans and community jobs. The students in my class love collaborating to further their learning by teaching each other and gaining knowledge from their peers. My students need new books to read in book clubs for our informational unit.
My project will make a difference because my students will be able to fully immerse themselves in a crucial unit while collaborating with their peers in book clubs and fully digging in to learn more about the world around them.
