"Our children are NOT acting out or against us but rather the situation.” I am currently a Special Education teacher for grades K-2. My students and I are very passionate about learning and the best ways to learn.
They are happy go lucky kiddos that just need that extra love and push to reach their full potential.
We are a Title I, low income district that tries to beat the odds every year. We have the most passionate and caring students and staff that are always eager to learn new things and help as many people as possible along the way.
My Project
I have scheduled times in my day to take various kinds of breaks: sensory breaks, stretching breaks and brain breaks. These breaks allow my students to move around, receive sensory input and come back focused and ready to learn. If my students had these sensory tools they would be able to regulate their system when feeling overwhelmed or frustrated.
