This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Sorry about the mess, but we're learning here." Yes, learning and teaching can get messy, but that's because young minds move at the speed of light! Our class needs a little help keeping important things organized.
These fourth graders are fabulous, fun, and feisty!
We have 21 students in our school family--11 boys and 10 girls. Most of these children receive free meals. Even though life can be difficult sometimes for them, my students are feverishly working at being the best readers they can be.
My Project
The 120 minutes of the literacy block fly by each morning! We don't have time to waste looking of materials or charts of full of strategies and information we need to get the most out of our guided reading time. Having everything gathered on one cart will maximize time on task.
Having an easel with places for materials storage will make it so much easier to transition from one group to another.
Students will get more time with me when we are not hunting for the day's learning tools and literature.
