Ms. Angela Williams from Saint Louis MO is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need and will benefit from a Vizio HDTV, HP laptop, and an Epson projector as technology in the classroom, so that they can learn in today's modern world.

We are ready to learn! Kindergarteners want to learn and are natural scientists. Being a school with little technology in the kindergarten rooms, we will use our grant to help us to be scientists. Supplies like a projector and computer will be part of our scientific tools. Smarter, Together!
My goal for this project is to bring some technology into the classroom that I can use to support my students' needs.
With so many of our educational programs (not just our school but everywhere) being technology driven, it is very difficult to provide the necessary curriculum without technology. We do have 4 very old desktops in the room, but no projection capabilities. I would like to be able to show them their Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies lessons as they are sent to me, via technology. Using the TV with HDMI and a laptop set-up, I can do that. I will be able to broaden their ability to have a differentiated learning experience. We will learn how to be scientists by not only exploring hands-on, but also being able to watch other scientists at work, smarter, together! What activity or lesson plans will be possible with these materials? How do plants grow, what tools do scientists use, the difference between plants and animals, along with ELA and Mathematics connections.
These materials will bring new personal experiences and educational experiences to my kindergarteners. We will discover how a scientist uses tools to find new discoveries, and how to plan and plant our outdoor classroom. We will learn about other children in other parts of the world and how they learn, and what their schools are like. What will my students learn from the material? They will learn ideas and skills from around the world, with the ability to bring science theory from around the world to them with the use of these materials and the Internet. We will also use materials to help learn and care for our outdoor classroom that needs a lot of TLC. Being a scientist will be a fun adventure and learning experience for our kindergarten classroom, and will benefit future classes as we learn smarter, together. What does it take to be a scientist, and what tools do scientists use? With your help, we will find out and grow these young minds to benefit the world. Smarter, Together!
My project will make a difference in my classroom and my school by giving and exposing students to things they do not have at home - technology.
It will teach them how to use it as a learning tool and not just for entertainment. Bringing technology to the classroom to assist in an overall learning and teaching experience is my goal. I want to give kindergarten students skills and a strong knowledge base to help them to succeed in their futures.
