My Students
Do you remember building with Legos? Did you ever create a masterpiece using only simple building materials? Our students love to show their creative sides but need access to building materials.
Our students come from extreme situations of poverty and are often labeled as homeless as they live in hotels or are very transient.
This means a lot of our kids do not have the childhood memories or the materials to create. As part of a school wide makers space, students are able to create their own designs using these building bricks.
My Project
The entire school is working on individual passion projects using the library's makers space. Students will complete research and then build their ideas to display in a school wide makers fair. In order to be successful, students need access to a wide variety of building bricks in order to complete the projects.
Creativity is a student's greatest asset in order to succeed in the future.
Combine this with passion, and students can do anything! The simple task of providing building bricks to students in order to create something that ignites a passion is securing our future!
