I am a first grade teacher who is in a new classroom this year and I have a great group of kiddos who are eager to learn and becoming fantastic readers! We are working on making reading and writing fun and also integrating into our STEM goals for our school. Our biggest challenge is space in our room
My students come from low income families and are amazing little people who show compassion for one another and are eager to please.
I am extremely proud to be working for a Title 1 STEM school and I feel as our building is very different then most in providing a family to all staff and students who attend here. It is a unique experience to be a student here and they have opportunities to be more hands on in their learning through integration of STEM in all of our daily activities.
My Project
I am requesting space saving tables for my class in order to provide the different areas necessary for integration and general flow of our class activities. I currently have round tables that take up a lot of space and our difficult to arrange in my room.
The ability to provide more specific areas of my classroom for our integration needs would be a huge time saver and allow my students to have constant access to our supplies and not require me to put things away in closets and having to drag them out daily.
It would not only help my current students but many years of students in our district. I appreciate any support for my class and my students.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
