My Students

I am lucky enough to work with twenty-two eager and excited students everyday. We spend a majority of our day in small groups. I am working with a small group and the rest of my students are working on their computers. Not all students have their own headphones.

I have twenty-two wonderful First Graders.

They love school and love to learn! Just today one of my students said, "I would rather be at school than at home. At school you get to learn so many things. At home it is just boring!" Our school has a high number of free/reduced lunches, so not everyone can afford their own headphones. I have purchased about ten from my own income. I would love to have enough for each of my students to have their own.

My Project

Our goal for our students is to make one years growth. We have a program for reading and math on our computers that the students take four times a year to check growth. They are also doing lessons in this program everyday. Imagine students having to use their computer without headphones. With around ten computers talking at once. If they had their own headphones, they could concentrate on their own computer.

This donation will help my students to concentrate on their own computer.

They would not be confused by all the computers talking at once. This donation would also help my students who can't afford their own headphones have better self esteem.
