Popcorn makes everything better, doesn't it? I want to get a popcorn maker and popcorn for my suburban school to use for an incentive and during after school activities like tailgates, study sessions, and more!
I teach in a comprehensive suburban high school of about 1,300 students.
Our students are the most incredible people - they are giving, kind, and thoughtful. During a recent Thanksgiving turkey drive for those in need in the surrounding county, our students were able to donate 274 turkeys to those in need! We are in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri.
My Project
We have so many extracurricular organizations that plan things like dances, study sessions, tailgates, and more. Our students are so heavily involved, and they deserve to have a little surprise as well! It would be wonderful to be able to have a fresh popcorn cart as a treat for students who participate in all of the activities that we offer. For example, we are having a final exam study slam in the coming weeks. It would be awesome to have snacks for our students after school when they come in to get extra help in preparing for final exams. We would also be able to use the popcorn as an incentive in individual classrooms.
Students who are more involved in school do better academically.
Making popcorn would be a great way to get more students involved in our school. Students who are given an incentive to participate in different activities are more likely to actually attend! Popcorn is an easy way to have FUN while learning.
