My students need these stools. I need my students to focus as much as possible but at the same time they need to be able to get their energy out. These stools do the job.
A day in the life of me..... my classroom runs on energy and we are all full of it. I have individual carpet squares for each student so that they have their own space while respecting others and are still a part of the group. We take many many brain breaks where we get up and MOVE!!!!
Who are my students?
I teach a Special Education Classroom. I teach grades 1-4 and I service all disabilities from intellectually disabled to autistic. They are a great group of kids. Some with physical disabilities and some disabilities you are unable to detect at all.
My school services grades one through four. We are a tight knit community inside our walls. We promote a positive behavior intervention system with our students. It's a great place to be.
My Project
Many of my students have behavioral diagnosis. Many of the students have difficulty remaining calm and/or still. Some of my students put out their best effort when they are able to wiggle around and let all that energy out.
We take many many brain breaks in my classroom where we get up and move. This is to help the students be more focused when at my table during teacher/instructional time. Many of my students need to kick their legs or rock while performing academic tasks. These stools will allow them to do that while still performing academic tasks.
Your donation to this project will allow my students to have the ability to let their body have control while they focus on giving their best effort during instructional time.
They often cannot control their bodies even with medication and these stools will allow them a better chance of remaining focused.
