Every morning and end of the day we sing our class chant, "Good, Better, Best! Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!" We are excited about learning and curious about the world around us!
My school is very diverse in a high poverty, urban area.
We have many languages spoken and are culture rich within our student population. The staff at our school works hard to not only meet our students and their families needs, but also to make strong connections to our kids. Every morning, students carry their breakfast to the classroom and begin their day sharing stories with their classmates and myself. I know that many have faced challenges in life, but they strive each day to overcome anything in their path. They constantly amaze me and I look forward to each smile, act of happiness, and their desire to learn more!
My Project
My students are eager to learn each day and were hooked immediately on Code.org. With Wonder Robots, their coding skills will allow them to make a robot move, play music, paint, and build. I cannot imagine a more relevant way to continue on their existing skills and further their interest, excitement, and sense of pride. They will have complete ownership of their learning because I cannot imagine all the ways they will use this robot...and how exciting is that?! I have no doubt my incredible students will blow me away with their abilities. We will be able to use the robots cross-curricular-math, science, reading, writing, art, and music!
