Busy, energetic, and dynamic are words that come to mind when I think of my classroom. In my class students take responsibility for their learning, I am simply a guide. They explore and I help explain and elaborate! Tablets are a great tool to enhance that exploration and in turn increase learning!
My school is a small Title 1 school in Southwest Missouri.
Our school is a family. We work together as a team with a common goal of installing a love for learning into our students. We have a wide variety of students come in our doors, each of them amazing and unique! Our goal is for them not only to leave us with a passion for learning, but the tools to achieve whatever their goals are. This year I was blessed with 21 incredible little humans in my classroom. Not a two of them are the same or learn the same. Each of them learn in their own way and are at a different level. I have students who came in not knowing a single letter and some who came in reading. Tablets are an amazing resource for students of all levels and make my job just a little easier! I am able to download apps and create lessons for all of those learners much more efficiently than other methods! I am able to do more with students and send them to first grade even more ready and eager!
My Project
Technology is not the future anymore, technology is now! Company's are creating apps targeted to young students that are absolutely phenomenal and keep learners completely engaged in the content. Eventually I would love for every student in my room to have a tablet, unfortunately that is extremely expensive. Right now I would love to use tablets in small groups for math and reading. There are an abundance of apps for phonics, spelling, reading, sight words, listening skills and comprehension, number sense, addition, subtraction and so much more! I fully intend to use the tablets for all of those things!

Tablets are engaging to learners of all ages. It makes differentiating instruction possible in all subject areas. I will be able to download apps that work for all types of learners as well as all levels of learners! I truly believe that technology is how we are really going to reach this generation of learners and generations to come!
