"Thank you for being a friend!" The words to this song may be a bit old for my students, but they still ring true...even for a seven year old.
I teach 2nd grade in a school where the spirit of learning soars and character grows!
There are 482 students in our school. It is my goal as a 2nd grade teacher to keep students safe, love them, and teach them as much as I can! I truly want to foster each child's love for learning and help every student feel successful.
My Project
Friendships are important in helping children develop socially and emotionally. I have wonderful students in my class, and they show the qualities that make a good friend each and every day. However, everyone has those tough days when they go home and feel a little down and alone. For this reason, I'd like my students to make Friendship Frames with the frames, paper, and ink pads. The frames will hold a picture of a tree with thumbprints of all classmates. The wording at the bottom will say (The Student's Name) Friendship Tree. The fingerprints will be a constant reminder of how many people care.
I'm hoping the nicely framed artwork can be seen before going to sleep at night.
Before laying one's head on the pillow, this donation will serve as a reminder of the love and support from classmates and friends.
