Ms. Crawford from Florissant MO is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need two iPads to improve their technology skills for 21st century demands.

David Warlick states "We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world."
We are a positive, enthusiastic, eager to learn group of 23 students!
Our school is located in a high poverty area in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Our school does not have the funds and resources to make technology available for all students. My students are yearning for the opportunity to have more resources and technology into our classroom.
Our classroom will be using these two iPads in both English language arts and mathematics. For example, a study conducted last year stated that there are many opportunities for students to become more successful academically in reading with the use of an iPad. My students will be able to create their own stories, record voice, and make the actions with the characters they have chosen. Our class will also use these iPads for students who are non-native speakers of English, to assist in translating conversation. Students will also be able to read stories based on their current academic level without the hassle of the limited book resources that we have. For mathematics my students will be using the iPads to practice addition and subtraction facts, creating story problems and also problem solving. My students will learn how to become more technology proficient regardless of the limited resources our school has available.
Our goal is to integrate digital technologies into literacy instruction, and equip students with the new literacy skills needed for reading, writing, and communicating in digital environments.
These two iPads will ensure that my students are prepared for the new demands of the 21st century. My students will not only be prepared for other grade levels but also for the real world.
