My Students
My students have a great desire to learn and will do anything I ask them to try. We need an alternative to sitting in chairs all day and Hokki chairs will help with focusing on the given task.
My classroom consists of eleven energetic, fun, and hard working 3rd and 4th graders.
The school is located in a very rural area and is a very traditional school setting. I want to provide these students with resources they have never had before, and find a tool that will change our school day. As 8-10 year olds, they are very wiggly. These chairs will help keep them engaged.
My Project
Students will be able to move while sitting on the Hokki stools, which will help to keep them actively engaged in their work. My ultimate goal would be to have a stool for each student in my class. The funding of this proposal would be the first step in that direction.
This project will change the daily atmosphere in the classroom.
The stools will allow students to move and not disrupt other students. These will be used in small groups, as a reward for students who are working hard and for students that are struggling to get work done. I would love to make get these chairs and make a movement from always using the traditional seating that we have now.
