My Students
We are a third-grade classroom. We begin our mornings with the pledge and our announcements. Some of the challenges we face, in our classroom, are just having simple school supplies. My goal is for my students to never feel like they cant work, because they don't have the correct tools.
I have a wonderful group of 23 students.
We are in a low income area, so getting all students to come, with all their supplies, is tough. They are all willing to learn, and want to be the best they can be, but sometimes they're more worried about having dinner that night.
My Project
As a teacher, I provide many things my students are not able to afford. Our school does provide us with things, such as pencil sharpeners, but they are just not of the quality that outlasts 23 little guys, using it day in and day out. This will provide them with sharpened pencils throughout the day, and they will not have to visit the sharpener several times, watching it eat most of their pencils.
This will help all of us.
Their parents and I will, hopefully, need to buy less pencils. Like I said, some don't even come with pencils, so, I have to provide more, and it adds up over the years.
