School spirit is a big part of Student Council's typical day. We want each student in 7th-12th grades to have a picture on our bulletin board. Access to a camera and printer will help us complete this challenge for many years to come.
Student Council provides many goods and services for everyone in the student body.
Because we are an integrated school, that usually includes students from 7th to 12th grade, we have around 150 students. Although we provide the necessary items suggested to us, most of our job revolves around providing many fun activities for the kids to do in a safe environment. Being able to capture these activities with a video recording camera and being able to print colored pictures will help us increase our school's positive spirit. It will also allow for the students that do not usually receive much recognition to be recognized for being influential around school.
My Project
Our student council members will be able to tape live action scenarios as well as capture the memories of each of these fun activities. By creating a school wide bulletin board, we will be able to include everyone in the school. Student Council consists of 30 students, but the camera and printer will allow every member of our student body to be involved throughout the year. I think this will be a great way to include everyone in our school and for students to collaborate in a positive experience.
Often, high schoolers separate themselves into "cliques".
The groups inevitably cause separation in our schools. By creating an experience where everyone in school can contribute to our over all culture and climate, we are providing something unique. Every time we have created a fun activity, the students have loved it. It would be awesome if we could capture those moments and be able to post more. By posting everyone's pictures, we create a positive group dynamic.
