Reading to Amazing Adventures!
Funded Aug 1, 2023Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom. Without your support, we wouldn't have these amazing items! I use these chapter books to engage students and begin to instill that love of reading.
I allowed them to vote on which series they'd like to hear first and began simply reading a chapter or two daily!
For them to hear a book "just for fun" makes reading an adventure!
I can't wait to see the many adventures we take by incorporating these books into our daily routine!
Thanks again! We appreciate you!”

Building Number & Literacy Sense
Funded Oct 13, 2022Thank you so much for your donations! My students have loved using the huge number line to practice addition and subtraction! Having this giant number line has been helpful for all students to be actively engaged because it's easier to see and use! Using that number line along with the dry erase boards have been a time saver in math! My small group instruction has been a breeze utilizing these resources because students can quickly get started with these materials! Plus--the benefit of NOT copying papers to use for number line practice has been amazing!
We love using the translucent letters on the light table. It's more engaging and allows for extra fine motor practice when building! Students have loved using these resources during reading groups. Our new CVC snap cubes have been a game changer when teaching CVC words. It's a great reinforcement for this learning skill.
My students are always so excited when donors, like you, donate to them! We appreciate you so much!”

Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank you again for donating to my project "tracking our learning—virtually!" It's been a trying year so far, but by being able to incorporate ESGI assessments, it has eased the transition process (and frustration) to administer assessments via online.
This tool gives me real time data that I can share with colleagues and parents quickly, along with providing tools for parents to use at home.
I appreciate your donations and thoughtfulness towards our classroom projects! This project has made our 2020-21 year a little easier to manage! I can't thank you enough!”

Funded Nov 25, 2019My students have loved using the felt board pieces and activities. This is one of their daily go-to's because it is a time where they can be their most creative. They are able to tell a "story" using a variety of manipulatives. It allows them to discuss characters and settings and enhances their details when writing.
The story cubes have been a wonderful manipulative to add. We've used them during center rotations to practice writing words and during our math graphing activities.
I'm able to provide 6 groups with a variety of activities using these story cubes.
The students were so excited to see these materials when I opened the box.
Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. My students and I greatly appreciate it!”

Oh, What Fun It Is to Have...STEM Activities
Funded Dec 3, 2019My students are loving these new activities! They ask daily can they use the stamps to build words (yay!) and are excited when they manage to create new words with beginning, middle, and ending sounds.
The building kit is a hit! This is a daily go to during free choice time. I've seen houses and cars being built and great team work among classmates.
When utilizing the building sets for bridges and cars, my students love fact that the wheels can roll! :)
This is has been so much fun for them to create cars, bridges, vacuums, and other items I would have never imagined.
Thank you for opening up their creativity and opening up your donations to fulfill my students needs.”

Funded Mar 27, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. My students absolutely love sitting on the circle mats and they provide a wonderful, comfortable, and flexible seating option.
Students love being able to listen to stories together using our new headphone splitters! What a great way to read with a buddy! And having new headphones makes our reading so much fun. Students love being able to listen to our books on the kindles and use QR codes to hear their favorites read to them.
Your donation to my classroom is so important and appreciated. Thank you very much!”

Light Bright! Let's Light Up The Classroom!
Funded Nov 27, 2018I want to say a heartfelt thank you for your donation to our classroom! The light table has been a wonderful addition to our math and literacy stations. Students were so excited when I turned it on and they were able to see the many things that it can be used for.
We have made words in small group, had free exploration, practices writing, and even sorted and graphed various objects. Students are actively engaged in this activity and beg to use it everyday! Thank you very much for believing in my students and wanting to provide extra opportunities for them!”

Pencils Down, Hands Up! Fine Motor Activities Are Here!
Funded Aug 30, 2018What an amazing gift you have given our class! The day we received the box was cause for celebration! We had a discussion about how people, like you, wanted to encourage their love for learning and give to our classroom. The excited faces were worth it once they saw what was in the box.
We have used our materials during math centers and free exploration time. I've seen students create things like cars, Ferris wheels, and robots. I've been able to see collaboration take place among 5 & 6 year old students to make things move and roll. We've been able to use our math tools during small group instruction to aid in the lesson.
I plan to continue to incorporate these items to promote building, creative thinking, and collaboration among my students. Thank you again for your donation to my classroom and my students.”

Funded Nov 21, 2017Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom! My students were super excited to see that box be delivered to our class! I opened the box to show them all the wonderful things that they would be able to use during word work stations and math groups and they jumped up and down! During our word work stations, we use our letter stamps to practice building our words and we use our sight word stamps to practice reading and writing (rainbow writing!) during our reading groups!
Each day we have reading groups, and now, thanks to you, every child in each group is able to use our letter magnets to build words to practice word work! There's no more piecing together bags of letters, we have enough now to allow 10 students to each have a bag! It's great practice for them--especially because the vowels are red and consonants blue--great for differentiation during word work! Thanks again for your donation!
I know that having these items in my classroom makes our word work stations, small groups (math & reading), and centers more exciting for my students. It creates various ways to differentiate and meet a variety of student needs. I hope to be able to create a new project soon to add to these activities and continue making learning fun! A great big thank you from myself and my students!”

Funded Dec 13, 2016Thank you so much again for your donation to my classroom! When the boxes were delivered, it was like Christmas all over again. We ooohed and ahhhhed over the big boxes. They couldn't wait to open them (especially when I told them that the stuff was for them to use!). Once we opened the boxes, we explored each item and used them one at a time. This allowed for more exploration and to become comfortable with the materials.
Students have used their imaginations when using these materials. The building sets come with cards that give ideas on what to do, but many students began creating on their own. Using these items has also allowed for students to practice with their fine motor skills (putting pieces together, using the tweezers, and manipulating the smaller pieces).
We've also used these items during our writing activities. Students were given pieces of the GeoStix to build anything they could think of. After creating their item, they had to draw a picture of what they built and write about that particular object. Using these items to incorporate into math, science, and writing has been very important! It's not just for play, it's to get our creative juices flowing!
Thank you so very much in providing these activities for my classroom!”

Mrs. Thigpen
