• Artistic Ascent! A Stand or Our Print Command Center!

  Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our generous donors for their support in acquiring a much-needed printer stand for our classroom. Since its arrival, our classroom has experienced a notable transformation, with the creation of a designated "printer station" housing two printers. This organization has not only improved the functionality of our space but has also facilitated greater efficiency and accessibility for both myself and my students. We've been utilizing the printers to print reference photos for student artwork and important educational materials, enriching our lessons and fostering deeper learning experiences. The excitement and appreciation from my students upon seeing the new printer station were palpable, igniting their imaginations for the myriad ways they could utilize this resource to enhance their learning.

  With the ease afforded by this resource, we're poised to bring our ideas to life, whether it's printing visual aids printing images for collage or mixed media pieces. • We're Not Throwing Away Our Shot!

  I wanted to take this opportunity to once again thank our amazing community of parents, friends, family and stakeholders for your continued support of our amazing visual arts program at Arvida Middle School. I can't begin to describe how ecstatic my photography students were to unbox their portrait studio and how much fun they had putting it together and taking some test photos! We are planning a portrait unit and they can't wait to get started!

  This week, photography students learned about the 5 major lighting styles in portrait photography. They will be practicing these skills using the portrait studio! We're so excited! Can't wait to show you all what they produce!”

• Duplicating Greatness In the Art Room!

  My art students are already growing up in an age where technology is ingrained in their daily lives. But when they come into the art room, sometimes, they're unaware of all the neat stuff we can do with technology... in this case, a simple black & white laser printer.

  Students are using this printer to print their photos for art work, for resource material, and more importantly, learning how to create image transfers for mixed media artwork. Surprisingly, this printer will also be used in my Creative Photography class to print student photos for use on various projects!

  I'm really enjoying watching my students realize that printers can do so much more than print their homework out! They're learning that technology is just another tool in their creative arsenal.”
