Reading & Writing in Kindergarten
Funded Jul 21, 2023Thank you so much for funding this project! Having the materials before the beginning of the school year helped me plan activities ahead and we have already put the materials to good use.
My Kindergarten students have already begun drawing and writing in their journals and are doing a great job. The different colors make it easy for the students to find their own journals. Last week we decorated our Book Boxes using the foam stickers and Sharpie markers. This week we worked on filling the boxes with books we have read, and next week students will take the boxes home to keep and add to throughout the school year.
Thank you again for your generous support!”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for the arts and crafts resources you purchased for us at the beginning of the school year. The Kindergarten students love our Art Cart and play with it multiple times a day. They enjoy making pictures for one another and things to take home to their families. They have been making connection between the art materials and things we are doing academically - after learning about the letter S, one student cut yarn and made a plate of "spaghetti" for me. They really like painting with watercolors, and this was the first time painting for some students. Thank you again for your generosity and support, it means a lot, to the students as well as the teachers.”

Funded Jan 15, 2021We absolutely love the new additions to our classroom! At the end of the school day when the boxes arrived, my students helped me open the boxes and pop all of the bubble wrap and cushioning materials inside - that was an exciting, fun afternoon!
The balance beam has been named the Rainbow Bridge by my Kindergarten students. It moves back and forth between each of my classrooms, spending a week at a time in each, and the classes are so excited for it to be their turn. It gives them a nice break throughout the day when they can get out of their seats, and it brings a lot of joy to our classroom.
The students love having more sets of walking stilts, and the teeter poppers and bowling set have been used a lot during indoor recess and play times. We now have enough gross motor toys that they can be split up and used in two classrooms, without having to quickly disinfect them before sending them to another room to be used. Thank you so much for generously helping our classroom, it means more than you could know.”

Funded Oct 22, 2020Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! The toys have brought a lot of excitement and joy to our students this year, both outside on the playground and within our classroom during indoor recess. They love the flying toys and the monster feet most of all and never seem to get tired of them. I am thankful to be able to provide them with a variety of toys and things to play with, both for their enjoyment and to make sanitizing materials between uses easier. Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom, it means a lot.”

It's the Little Things in Life
Funded Sep 22, 2020Thank you so much for the kindness and generosity you have shown to our classroom! This year is unlike any other and the extra materials have been incredibly useful and helped things run smoother by having enough materials to split between my two classrooms. The clipboards have given students more options for working comfortably in their defined spaces in the classroom. I have used countless laminating pouches to create additional math and literacy games to that each student can have hands-on learning experiences. The cordless glue gun is a game changer! I am able to turn it on and place it somewhere safe, without worrying about students being in the classroom, and quickly fix a broken toy or the spine of a book - two things I already did this week. Students have loved drawing on the colorful paper and using post-it notes while creating things during their free choice time. Thank you again for supporting my wonderful Kindergarten students this year!”

Funded Aug 16, 2020Thank you so much for the kindness and generosity you have shown to our classroom! This year is unlike any other and the toys have been incredibly useful and allowed my students to have their own things to play with each day. By adding more toys to our classroom, students can switch what they are playing with more often while still giving the teachers time to disinfect what they have touched. All of the toys are loved, but the favorites so far have been the magnetic building blocks and the food that lets them "cut" it into pieces to cook. The markers have been great for creating more math and literacy so that each student can have hands-on learning experiences. Thank you again for supporting my wonderful Kindergarten students this year!”

Funded Feb 20, 2020Thank you so much for the generosity you have shown our classroom this year. Sadly, all schools in Virginia have closed for the remainder of the academic year, so we did not get to play the news toys as much as I would have liked, but the students LOVED them, especially the magnetic tiles. The few pictures I have of them "in action" are because the students would build something and ask if they could take a picture of it to send to their families at home. They are really the coolest manipulatives and I cannot wait to add more to our collection. Thank you again for your support, it means more you could know.”

Funded Jun 18, 2019Thank you so much for the cozy resources that you provided for our classroom, especially the giant pillows. I love this new, soft space in our classroom and so do my students. My new group of students is able to go to this spot and calm down or rest throughout the day when they need to, and the area is used as a calmer play area at other times in the day. The sensory bottles are a favorite of all of my students and I've found them useful when I need a student to focus on something to help regulate their emotions.
Moving forward I hope to add more sensory items to this area and throughout my classroom. Thank you again for your generosity, it is truly appreciated by everyone who uses our classroom and makes the room a more calming place to spend the day.”

Funded Dec 31, 2018The box carrying our classroom chairs (I didn't expect them to come in a box!) was HUGE and had my students giggling and excited the minute they saw it. They loved helping me unpack the new chairs and put them where they belong. My students like the new chairs and say they are very comfortable. All of the chairs sit evenly, so no one feels the need to race to the table in hopes of not getting a wobbly chair with uneven legs. Thank you for the kindness you have shown to our classroom, your generosity is appreciated more than you will ever know.”

It's the Little Things!
Funded Dec 12, 2018Thank you for all of the "Little Things" you have given my students! In the few weeks since they have arrived, we have used every thing in some way. Students love playing with the Squigz when they arrive in the morning. They are creating the coolest things with Play Doh and small manipulative toys. The page protectors are an easy way for me to protect charts and other tools we use daily in reading and math groups. Thank you again for supporting our classroom, it means more to me than you could possibly know!”
