Imagine a predominately African American populated public school with a small mixture of Latino and Caucasian students and you have the dynamics of my classroom. A group of incredibly intelligent and amazingly talented young people who love being able to study the elements of satire, irony and paradox and express them through a creative outlet: multimedia. My students are extremely excited about creating music videos, animations and mini-movie versions of several classical literature from the Chaucer to Shakespeare. In fact, they love the incorporation of multimedia in the classroom, yet many of my students do not own the equipment needed to assemble the high-quality films they desire to create. Most of them desire to go to either college or technical school, so having more technology in the classroom would also provide the assistance we need for multimedia projects to flow more smoothly so that they could carry their creations from our classroom to perfection beyond high school.
