Collaborative Problem Solving Lockbox Breakout will provide fun opportunities for my students to work together to solve problems that have immediate results. The students will work together to solve riddles (linked to academic review in all areas). Each riddle will open a different lock. When all riddles have been solved and locks have been opened, the students find their "prize" inside the lockbox. Building 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking will give my first graders a jumpstart on college and career readiness. Giving my students a safe structure for practicing these skills makes for a fun experience they will remember for a long time to come.
