Curious Kids Need a New Classroom Computer!
Funded Dec 31, 2012My letter is just a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom! I can't begin to express how valuable this laptop has been in our special education classroom. From the day that it arrived, it has been used to help students improve in their reading and math skills. My students are all working on individual skills and at different levels. They need time on task, working at their individual levels, and this laptop gives them that! The students beg for a chance to go on the computer and read stories or practice their math facts, and when they are on the computer, they are so focused and engaged! Technology is revolutionizing special education, and I'm so excited about the impact it has already made in the lives of these students. Thank you so much!”

Technology is Key!
Funded Dec 20, 2012Wow! What a powerful tool this piece of technology has been in our little classroom! From the first day the laptop arrived, it has been put to good use, providing time on task to these students in both math and reading. My students absolutely love doing the reading and math computer programs available at our school, and now more children get to spend time working on their individual levels with these games. Some of my students are learning their letters, and some are reading long passages. With this laptop, they get to work on the specific skill that they are learning, and they are so engaged while doing it!
I'm so excited about the progress I have seen in my students. Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students and I are incredibly grateful!”

Leveled Library for Little Learners!
Funded Dec 31, 2011Wow! Thank you so much for the leveled books for our classroom library. Because of your donation, our classroom is stocked with many wonderful books that the students can read. My students love curling up on our classroom bean bag chairs and reading books out of their book bins. However, before we received your generous gift, these children would often read the same stories again and again, with little variety, or they would try to read books that were much too difficult for them. Now we have a wide variety of books that are at their independent reading levels. I love seeing students spend the entire independent reading time reading book after book after book... and enjoying it! Thank you for supporting my students and their education!”

Hands-On Materials For Hands-On Learners!
Funded Dec 23, 2011Thank you so much for supporting my classroom with this project! My students were so excited to receive boxes of fun, hands-on reading activities. The older students absolutely love practicing more difficult phonics skills with the long vowel puzzles and centers, and the younger students enjoy practicing letters and sounds, especially when they get to fish for letters with the Fishing for Phonics learning center. For children who often find learning very difficult, these activities help make learning fun and exciting! These activities have helped enrich our classroom, and I deeply thank you for supporting my students learning.”

iPad, iLearn!
Funded Dec 14, 2011Wow! My students were so excited when I told them that our classroom would be getting an iPad! We were even more excited when it actually came in the mail and became an essential part of our classroom. I filled it with phonics, reading comprehension, alphabet, and math apps, and the students all beg for their turn to get a chance to practice differentiated skills with the iPad. The iPad has helped them get excited to learn and review past skills, and the students are becoming more and more familiar with technology each day that they use it. Our little classroom's dream of having an iPad became a reality because of you! Thank you so much for believing in this project and helping my students!”

Help Make Math Fun!
Funded May 23, 2011We received these fantastic math centers a short time after we started school, and I couldn't think of a better way to start out the school year! We've started using these activities during our math lessons, and they are such a fantastic way to ensure that the students are getting to practice math skills at their levels. The students love them... and so do I! In our special education classroom, I have students from more than one grade level at one time. Because of these activities, I can have the students rotate between doing these independent centers and working on small group lessons with me. This ensures that the kids are always getting time-on-task with skills that they need to practice, AND because these activities are hands-on, the students are enjoying math class even more! On behalf of myself and my students, I want to thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity! Math class truly is so fun!”

Teaching Through Technology
Funded Dec 31, 2010Thank you for your incredible support and generosity! My students were absolutely amazed when I told them that we now have our very own laptop computer! The students have been using the laptop during center time to use the phonics and math software that we have available at our school. When it is their turn for the computer center, they get so thrilled when they get to use the new laptop. I love this laptop because it is able to run all of the software my students need, in addition to the fun reading games online. I have also been able to use the laptop during IEP meetings to create and edit individualized education plans. This laptop is invaluable to my classroom, and I cannot thank you enough for this incredible resource. My students are so grateful, and so am I! Thank you so much! ”
