Help Our Classroom Learn The Value Of Money!
Funded Nov 4, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund our school store. The students were so excited to spend their money on fun items. It's so great to see them counting their money and figuring out how much they can spend or if they should save it. Either way it makes using money a real world experience by wanting to buy fun items that I couldn't have afforded on my own.
My class has learned so much through our class monetary system. Year after year I have students who return to my class and they always have fond memories of earning money and spending it weekly.
Without your support I wouldn't have the supplies needed to create these wonderful learning experiences for my students.”

A Space For Everyone!!
Funded Aug 25, 2022Thank you so much for funding our project! The new carpet is such a nice gathering spot for our class. Everyone knows their spot and they love having a place to read and relax during our rotation times.
We use our carpet for daily meetings and small group activities. I also love how my students use it to create patterns from the colors and practice the alphabet that is on it.
The students waited patiently when I told them our project had been funded and were so excited when it was delivered at the beginning of the month.
They truly love it and it makes our classroom a comfortable and inviting space.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

A World of Books
Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for donating to our class project for new books. My class devours books and they absolutely love hearing stories each day. The rich language and stories open up a whole new world and also provide authentic language that so many of my students need to hear.
The variety of books that were chosen for this project cover many genres and ethnic diversities. My class is made up of children from around the world and they are delighted to see their own cultures in the books. It opens up a pathway for them to discuss their roots and where their family has come from. It also allows for other students to learn about a new culture through the books and experiences of other students.
The books are housed in our class library and available for the students to read daily. Once I share a book with the class it is up for grabs and my students can't wait to get their hands on it.
Again thank you most generously for helping our classroom build our library.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and 3 other donors.I Like To Move It, Move It!
Funded Oct 16, 2015Thank you so much for all of your generous donations to our project! The students were so excited to all have bands on their chairs. If you were to come into my classroom you would see how much they are being used by my students.
There is constant movement of their feet now!
I can see it really helps those wigglers focus a little longer without having to get out of their seats. I have also noticed students do not tip in their chairs. I had a handful of tippers who gain stimulation from tipping their chairs back. The bands keep their feet off of the ground so they tend to not push their chairs back anymore, which is much safer!
I am so glad to have this great little resource to make sitting a little more fun. Mahalo!”

Take Me Home!
Funded Sep 14, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations to help fund out project. These new books have been a wonderful resource for my struggling readers all the way up to my higher level readers.
The Bob books are written phonetically for those struggling students and they love taking them home to practice with parents. I have gotten great feedback from parents telling me how their children feel confident and want to keep reading!
The other books by Mo Willems and The Mercy Watson series are class favorites. The students literally beg each other to get their hands on each of the books. They are high interest books and the students just love them!
The love of reading is such a key element to a child's success. Again I thank you so much for helping our class develop a love of books and reading on their own.”

Apples For Everyone
Funded Oct 31, 2014I can't thank you enough for your generous donations to this project! Since we have received these 4 iPads it has made our iPad center so much more engaging and accessible to the whole class. We are able to use them for our math rotations and our reading rotations everyday!
The apps that we use during these times are fun and perfect for 2nd graders. Students are able to quickly grab an iPad and get started right away. I am no longer being interrupted during my guided groups to tell me that "the computer isn't working!" The heavy duty cases are perfect for little hands and I don't have to worry about an accidental drop in the class. Not to mention they love the colors!
We have enough iPads now for centers with a few left over to use during small group instruction. The students are also able to share them for buddy reading and they have also used them to Google resources for science and social studies projects.
Mahalo for helping to support our classroom and make learning fun!”

Seating For Success
Funded Mar 16, 2014I cannot thank you enough for all of your donations to our Seating for Success project! I was so excited when I received the full funding and knew we would receive the new table for our classroom.
The students were so excited and absolutely love using it. There is no more fighting over not having enough room or enough chairs. I can now sit right in front of each one and individually help them.
The students love sitting there during their free time as well, and they can't wait to sit in "the teacher's chair" to instruct other students.
I think a kidney shaped instructional table should be a mandatory item in every K-2 classroom!
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity in helping our classroom!”

Funded Oct 21, 2013I can't thank you enough for your generous donations to our project. The class and I are so excited to have these new tools to help us.
The covers that we received make it possible for little hands to use the iPads without worry. They carry them freely in the classroom and can sit wherever they are comfortable. With the headphone connectors they are also able to share the iPads easily and work together much more effectively. It makes it easy to "Buddy Read" the same stories.
With these new tools to protect and share our iPads, the possibilities for use in our class seem endless. Again your generosity and support are truly appreciated.”

Apples All Around
Funded Oct 15, 2013Our class can't thank you enough for your generous donations to our project. Having an iPad center in the class has been so wonderful. Students can't wait to use them and are so engaged. They look forward to our center times when they get to choose to work on one of them.
In class we use our iPads daily for many activities. Students access online programs for reading and math. During our literature centers there are numerous apps that I have downloaded to keep them engaged and learning new skills. The students have also been able to use them for their animal research projects, and to find pictures for science. I have also downloaded many videos which we are able to access through the iPad and project for everyone to view.
With this new center I am able to meet with small groups of students more frequently and not worry about other students being off task. They are so easy to use and my students, quite frankly, seem to know how to navigate them much better than I can. I have never once been interrupted in my guided groups by a child having "trouble" with an iPad. I can't say this holds true for my other centers.
There are so many uses for this versatile tool that I am overflowing with ideas!”

Learning Through Listening
Funded Jan 4, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations to our class project! My students love listening to stories, and now that we have so many new stories they can't wait to go to our Listening Center.
By having a variety of books and Cd's at different levels, all my students needs are being met in this independent activity. Every student is able to use this resource and they love it! Even my reluctant readers have no aversion to this activity.
I am so grateful that Donor's Choose can help teachers like myself to provide important resources in our classrooms to ensure the success of all students.”
