Nifty New Nonfiction for Our Nonstop Bookworms!
Funded Apr 29, 2016Our students are amazing readers, and they need books to do so. With this amazing donation, we were able to buy new nonfiction books to update some of our collections. This gives them the tools to learn how to read nonfiction, how to find information and use informational text features, like glossaries or captions!
Our students thrive on variety and these books give them new ideas and broaden their horizons. Thank you for opening their eyes to all new topics and giving them these great books! These have especially reached our students who are tired of reading fiction and another book about a dog and his friend!

There is nothing better than seeing children giggle and share their excitement over books, and because of your donation, we will have more excitement and build lifelong readers here in the library! This carries over into better reading scores, college readiness, and a passion for learning new things in the future!

Funded Dec 4, 2015Thank you so much for your generosity! I will use this Macbook to update our iPads all at once rather than one at a time.
Previously, it would take me about 3 - 4 hours to update all our iPads and I would need to do it at home as the school servers would not allow updates until late hours! Now I can set up the Macbook, add the apps or updates I need and in less than 30 minutes all are updated!
The iPads especially speak to our diverse learners and our English language learners, giving them a tool that can be used with speech or voice recognition, rather than all print. This really gives all of our students a voice and a place where they can learn more about what they are interested in! I am so lucky to have community members and families that support our library program!

Scan Away!
Funded Aug 17, 2015Thank you so much for your generosity! Our students LOVE to checkout and look forward to checkout every week. With these new scanners they are able to spend more time reading and less time waiting in line! The new scanners streamline the checkout process! The most exciting thing about the scanners is that I have begun to teach older students how to checkout and they love being the "librarian" and checking out the younger students! We are so lucky to have wonderful and supportive community members and families that donate to our school and help us keep up with new technology! Thank you again!”

Tape It Up!

I am so happy to be part of a school community that truly believes in the power of education and the magic of reading. With these donations, we are able to fix items that are loved and give them new life. We are able to clean items that otherwise would need to be thrown away and then new students can enjoy and treasure the story for years to come. Help Us Hear!
Funded May 25, 2015Thank you so much for your continued support and generosity! We are so lucky to have such a giving community that truly wants children to learn. Our students are more organized with our new holders and can concentrate on getting the work done rather then finding the right color or pencil. With our new headphones, every student can listen and not take turns, giving all students more instructional time. The iPads are giving our students more opportunities to learn in different ways, as well as serving our diverse learner population to give them the tools they need. I can not thank you enough!”

iPads and Books Go Hand in Hand!
Funded Aug 22, 2015Thank you for your generous donations! Our students are enjoying reading and sharing books with others, along with finding new books to read and enjoy. The students are learning new genres and more about nonfiction to help their reading skills grow.
It is so enjoyable and adorable to watch them read to each other. It is so heart warming to see their faces scrunched in concentration as they immerse themselves in a new book that truly speaks to them, reflects them, and motivates them to read more. Plus, the iPad gives our students new ways to interact with reading and technology!

As the students have said repeatedly, thank you for the iPads! We love them! We are using them in many classes, learning new apps and using different apps. We will be using them to read and access eBooks and the vast Virtual Library, including databases, eVideos, and other electronic resources!
This project boosts my teaching and my students' learning because it builds our technology collection, giving more students access and practice with technology, making them not only information literate but technology literate as well! Enhance Our SmartBoard with a Document Camera!

With our new document camera we are able to see all the small details and read directions together. I am able to model for our students what to write and do and then the students are able to produce better results.
As we learn and grow together, this new document camera gives us another tool to meet learning standards in the library. We are able to learn more about copyright and plagiarism, and are better able to understand both concepts.

Complete Our Adventure with The 39 Clues!

They are also researching the places the characters travel to and learning more about the world!
