Force, Motion, and Energy
Funded Nov 19, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation towards the K'Nex Force, Motion, and Energy Set! My students were very motivated to collaborate to create the best design of a car to race. The kids were very engaged and had deep conversations about forces and motion. All students were engaged in the design creation, building, and racing of the car. Even my highly Unmotivated students! 90% of the students passed the culminating assessment at the end of the project! I even heard several kids say, "This is the BEST project EVER! Science is AWESOME!" Thank you once again for giving my students the opportunity to learn with hands on activities!”

Carpet Time is Teaching Time
Funded Nov 2, 2012Thank you for supporting my classroom by donating towards my project for a new Whole Group Carpet! It is beautiful with a map of the world on it. We received it just in time for our Maps unit! We are sitting on this carpet, learning and talking for more than 5 hours everyday. One of the kids said, "This is way more comfortable than the floor!" and I agree! We do whole group lessons as a class on it, as well as small group reading and math sessions. The carpet has also helped with my classroom management during the day because students have a designated spot to sit, which avoids bickering, talking, and playing. The students and I have truly LOVED using our carpet, sitting together, laughing and learning as a big family. Thank you so much for making our classroom environment safer to learn and more fun!”

Developing Scientists/Engineers of the Future
Funded Aug 22, 2012Thank you for your generous donations to help improve my science lab lessons and my students' interest in science! Science is now their favorite subject to which they look forward to everyday! It is so wonderful to be able to have tools and materials needed to give these students real life, hands on experiences instead of just using "videos" or text books. Even the students that are performing below grade-level in other subjects are understanding the science concepts as a result of our new materials. Your donations are enhancing over 150 students' educational experience just this year! Your kindness is much appreciated.”
