My second grade students are hard-workers who love to learn! They come to school each day excited to learn something new and work together. Each day we spend 1 1/2 hours in the morning focused on literacy. My students love to read and share what they know about being good readers. Our school is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school in a school district in Wisconsin. We have about 250 students from a variety of cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. At least 40% of our students are living in poverty. Yet, they continue to come to school with smiles on their faces and do their very best!
