Play-Based Is Best
Funded Nov 21, 2019The impact this project has had on my classroom is a huge one. Play is so important in kindergarten, and the tools from this project brought our play to the next level. Using items such as the dolls and puppets, my students are able to use their imaginations and create stories or retell books we have read in class. Using the sand and foam beads, my students are able to get their hands messy and experience sensory-based play. The kitchen items have been so useful as well. I was able to create a cardboard kitchen out of the boxes all the supplies came in and my students have been loving serving each other lunch and creating their own menus.
This project has had such a positive impact on my classroom and I look forward to adding more play-based learning in the future. Thank you again for your donation and continued support of learning and my classroom. I am forever grateful.”

Funded Aug 25, 2019Thank you so much for all of your donations. We are loving all the supplies we received. The whiteboards and magnetic letters have come in handy. We use them on a daily basis to practice sight words and practice using numbers. We were especially grateful for the dough. We love building words and letters using the dough. It is one of our most favorite activities to do throughout the day. As we continue to learn throughout the year, our supplies will continue to help our reading and math skills grow. We are so incredibly grateful for all of the donations made to our classroom. Thank you!”

Funded Aug 23, 2018This project has made such a powerful impact in my classroom. It has allowed many of my students to work on learning numbers and letters as well as advance past that into building words, addition and subtraction. The new Osmos will continue to grow with them and push them to learn new skills. The students are so motivated by the tools, they ask to use them often and are able to play as an individual but also build collaboration skills by playing as a team. The Osmo devices have been especially helpful for the beginning of the year in kindergarten as we are mastering letters, their sounds and beginning sounds of words.
When the Osmos arrived, my students were beyond excited and curious as to what they were and what using them was going to look like. Everyone had so much fun taking turns learning how to use it and exploring all the options the devices offers. We continue to use our Osmos on a daily basis and they are just as excited every day as they were on day 1.
As we continue to learn and grow through using our Osmos, we are now using them to work on math skills and strengthening our word building skills. We have moved past beginning sounds and are now working on trying to beat the iPad or another friend on building whole words, or solving number problems. The Osmos will continue to be a vital learning tool in the classroom and we are so thankful for your donation to our classroom. You have made a huge impact in many students' lives and we are forever grateful. Thank you.”

Makerspace Is a Learning Space
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping us create a maker space in our room. We have utilized the resources so much already, from using the supplies to explore fractions, to building the setting of our favorite story. Everyone was so excited when the supplies arrived, we had to open the boxes and explore everything. We were even able to use the supplies when we partnered with a first grade classroom. We are so thankful for your continued support of our classroom and we know we could not have had this project be a success without you. Thank you.”

Art In The Classroom
Funded Oct 3, 2017This project has made a large impact on our classroom. The students are loving the new supplies and we have utilized them for many projects already. We are excited to continue using them throughout the year to add more art to our lessons. One thing we have learned about ourselves as learners, is that when an art project is associated with our lesson, our learning deepens. The art we have incorporated has helped us maintain our information more.
We plan to use our supplies to add even more art to our learning. We are starting animal studies and can't wait to use the supplies to bring our projects to life. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. We are so thankful for you.”

Hearing Without Cords & Organized Charging
Funded Feb 15, 2017The students were overwhelmed with joy and could not wait to start using the headphones. Once we had them charged up and ready to go, there was not a pair that went unused.
This project has helped our classroom in many ways. First, we can take care of our iPads much more efficiently. Time is no longer wasted untangling cords in order to plug them in. Second, our classroom is able to focus on their iPads more as they can use the wireless headphones without worrying about cords or other noises. They are able to clean up our room with ease and can work without having to worry about tripping or getting tangled in cords.
We are so thankful for everyone who donated. Your support is greatly appreciated.”

Innovative Classroom Seating & a Little More
Funded Jan 24, 2016We are so thankful for your donation and your continuous support of our classroom. The items we were able to purchase have made our classroom an inviting and comfortable learning space for all students. They have options to choose from every day and are able to select the type of seating that best fits their learning style. They are able to do this because of you! The addition of 2 more iPads also has allowed our classroom to have a 2:1 ratio. This allows for more learning through technology for each child. Again, all because of you!
We could not have completed our project without you and are so grateful for you. From our third grade room to your home, Thank you!”

Literacy and iPads
Funded Nov 4, 2015The students were so excited for our new iPads to arrive. They were instantly taken out of the boxes and students had them in their hands and utilized the headphones within minutes. All of our students have many more opportunities throughout the day to use technology as a tool because of your donation. We thank you so much for your generosity.
With the addition of more technology to our classroom, we have been working on many new projects. Our students are blogging regularly now. Check out their work at www.kidblog.org/thirdmrsfarkas. We are also using PowerPoint and Prezi on the iPad to create final projects as we are learning. In addition, we are using an app called Aurasma to create our own book reviews in celebration of our reading.
Without your donation, this would not have been possible. Thank you for making a commitment to education and the future.”

Tweaching: Teaching With Twitter
Funded May 4, 2015Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. The students are loving the new iPads and accessories. They all have several opportunities to use the iPads throughout each day and it is the part of the day they look forward to the most. Many students are so excited about our learning apps, they want them sent home to parents so they can download them to their own devices.
The students use the iPads during our Daily 5 stations to practice their reading rate, spelling words and to research different topics. We are also using the iPads to create our own book commercials to motivate each other to read a book. Another way the students use the iPads is during math. They have several apps that allow them to practice their math facts as well as play games with a partner to work on different math skills.
This project has made a huge boost to student learning. They are motivated to read because of the projects we can do with our books. We have also started coding using our iPads and learning all about being a coder. It has made a large impact just on student motivation to learn because it is a new and innovative way for them to apply or practice the skills they are learning in the classroom.
Again, thank you so much for your donation. Our classroom is so thankful for your generosity and thoughtfulness.”
