  • Owl Dissection Is A Hoot!

    Funded Jan 20, 2013

We had the best time dissecting our owl pellets. We even had enough extra to allow some students to take their owl pellet home over Spring Break. What a surprise their parents found in their backpacks! I can't express enough how much we appreciate your help. The students really gained a lot of memories and learning experiences from this owl unit. One of my girl students even found a rat tail in her owl pellet. Ew! Her mother told me that she talked about the owl pellet activity for days. My class and I appreciate your kindness and genorosity. The experiment was a huge success!”

  • No Bullies Allowed!

    Funded Nov 20, 2012

Our classroom is bully-free and organized! We brought in the new year with the new supplies and organizational supplies you provided for us. Before Christmas we were extremely low on pencils, crayons, and glue. My students were so excited to get a new box of crayons when they returned from Christmas break. We had a great time using these supplies to create bully-prevention technique posters around our school. Our centers are now in the new storage trays and the students use them everyday. We appreciate your kindness and thank you for thinking of us.”

  • Anybody Can Be An Anti-Bully

    Funded Dec 28, 2012

Imagine my surprise when I checked my Donors Choose account and saw that our Kindle Fire and bullying supplies were funded today! Christmas may be over but the classroom gifts keep on coming. My students are going to be so excited to know that "Santa" left them a few more gifts coming in January. We are so very thankful for your support and gifts. It is so exciting to be able to provide technology for my students. The Kindle Fire and bully-prevention items will make a great asset to our classroom and will be used daily. We will never forget your kind donation.”

  • Note-Worthy News

    Funded Aug 28, 2012

We sincerely appreciate the Scholastic News class subscription and supplies you provided for our classroom. My students and I enjoy reading the magazines every week. They contain a wealth of knowledge that captivates my students. We tie in Language Arts skills when we read the magazines. My students enjoy looking at the colorful pictures and we use the supplies and magazines to make posters about different holidays. We even learned about the different holidays, while reading these magazines and made Christmas crafts from different cultures. Your generosity will always be remembered. Thank you for contributing to our small community of learners.”

  • Leaping for Letters!

    Funded Dec 6, 2012

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the donors who care about such a small, rural school in Mississippi. It is such an honor to know that each and every one of you care about my students and I. My little kindergarteners learn best with sound, movement, and music. Thank you for providing supplies for them so that they can succeed in school. They will be so excited when they come back Christmas break to see that there is one last present under the tree.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Courtney

  • Capturing Diversity

    Funded Mar 18, 2012

We are enjoying our new camera. Some of the students have gotten to take the camera home with them to start on their community/diversity projects. We have used the camera several times already to record recent memories of the end of the school year. The pencils you also provided for us came at a very good time. We were desperate for pencils and we no longer have to use worn down pencils anymore. It has been quite interesting to teach first graders how to properly use a camera. They have gotten a lot of practice, using the camera around school. We appreciate your kindness and supplies, as we bring the school year to a close.”

  • Cricuts Can Chirp Out the Bullies!

    Funded Jan 18, 2012

We are so grateful to have a Cricut machine to use for our classroom and teacher's lounge. Since receiving the Cricut, we have made bullying prevention posters to hang in our hallways. The students enjoyed being able to create the posters and sharing their work with others. It is a favorite center for the students to complete. They use the Cricut images to illustrate their writing. We are very fortunate to have donors like you. The supplies you provided for our class will be used for many years to come.”

  • Please Supply Us with Supplies

    Funded Dec 23, 2011

    Dear Friends of our Class,

We have really been enjoying our new tape player for the classroom. We play classical music every day during our writing time. It also works great for our listening center. We desperately needed a new pencil sharpener too. The ink has really helped us to publish our Australia and dinosaur reports. Y'all are the best!”

  • Bully-Free is the Way to Be!

    Funded Nov 24, 2011

We sincerely thank you for your donation to our book-binding machine project. We have written many class books and have published them, using the book-binding machine you provided for us. My students are more motivated to write and now have a final product to take home. They share their books to their parents and friends. The students have also made bully-prevention books to share with their peers. The illustrations in the books are wonderful and the books will be treasured for years to come. We are so very honored that you chose our project and we appreciate your kindness.”

  • Books for Our Classroom Nooks

    Funded Apr 22, 2011

You were so generous to donate the books to my classroom library. My class loves to come to school every day to read the King School Series. Small group reading time is their favorite part of the day. I use these leveled readers to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of all my students. My students are very familiar with the characters from the book and can really relate to them. Thank you for your kindness and you have made a big impact on the early reading development of 20 children.”

My students are from a high-poverty area. They do not have science opportunities to explore their curious minds, and our school does not have a science lab. I would like to turn my classroom into a temporary science lab so they can expand their learning.
