  • Modified to Satisfy

    Funded Mar 31, 2021

It's been a dreary-weathered spring break and the funding of this project has been an excellent uptick. I am excited to share the news with my students when we return. I have one of the 3D printers running in the background as we speak to help make another modification to display the inner workings and the hardware better.

With that and the modification ability you have provided, students will experience more comprehension and success of an emerging technology soon to be prominant in the manufacturing world.

You have provided an educational experience that is more future-proof in a time when that moving target is hard to keep up with. That is amazing and we can't thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Student Request - Wood Turning

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you for bringing the best tools and opportunites to students. I was reminded by a student the other day of the new tools. The student was enthusiastically commenting on the tools performance. Many students are intrigued by the opportunities that woodturning can offer, and having tools available on hand allows the teacher to better facilitate the instruction (even when their own skillsets may be limited).

With your support we are closer than ever to creating a learning environment where students can inquire about their curiosities, explore different mediums of learning, and construct knowledge independently.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Classroom Tech

    Funded Feb 5, 2021

As their instructor, I'm not sure I could say it better myself. In my student's words:

"Words cannot explain how grateful we are for every single donation. The amount of ongoing support truly amazes my fellow students and me. We always say it's not about the donation, it's the fact that every person took the time to consider and help us further our education.

Not only will the instructor be using the equipment, but many students will also use the document camera to show projects and present their ideas. With all the financial support we have received, students can learn more efficiently and safely, which means the world to us. Thank you again for your generous support." -12th Grade Student

We are very appreciative and excited, and thankful to offer the opportunites that come from writing this proposal and the gifts coming with it to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Get Students' Wood Projects to The "Finish"-Line

    Funded Aug 26, 2020

Hello, I am the Republic Michigamme student copywriter! On behalf of Republic Michigamme, I would like to thank you all for being so generous and supportive. My fellow students and I promise to not overlook anyone's donation because it's not just a donation, it's the fact that each person took the time to help students pursue their passion. With the help of every one of you, many students can quickly reach the finish line on their custom work safely, easily, and conveniently, and we thank you for that.

*Note from Mr. Barbercheck: I would like to re-iterate Gabe's gratitude, and also thank-you for providing a safer, cleaner, quicker, and easier to apply finish for our students to apply on their projects. Finishing is one of the toughest processes to teach within the confines of a bell schedule and your contribution has greatly simplified the process some.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Now Is the Time

    Funded Mar 29, 2020

Thank you much for these products which will help students build clocks, bring their creativity to life, and allow students to explore new ideas. Students will gain a better understanding and appreciation for a common everyday object.. Appreciation and understanding of the small things is a great way to bring a sense of calm to our youth.

Admittedly, this whiplash of this year has not allowed us to implement your donations yet. The clock hardware eagerly awaits their spots in our "hardware store". They eagerly await being handled by small hands and displayed for proud grown-ups.

Despite our inability to roll-out this project, we have been able to roll out a few successful home-office solutions for our students, and for sale to the general public. Feel free to message me at anytime if you want to hear more and your continued support is much appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Things Are Looking Foggy - Fog Free Lenses for Safety

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Both our in-person instruction and our remote instruction has been greatly supported by your efforts and contributions. Without your assistance, we would have had even one more hurdle to cross. The hurdle of safety can not be skipped or under-represented. Your assistance helped us cross the hurdle with ease.

Students were able to choose from their favorite model of safety glasses and compliance is up as a result. It appears there is no silver bullet solution to the problem of fogging lenses when safety glasses are worn with masks but we were able to find better combinations, and provide temporary fixes that outlasted status-quo options.

    Thanks much for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Fill a Mint

    Funded Apr 1, 2020

This is a great relief and much appreciated. I have been happy to help others within our community with the efforts my students have done and will continue to do.

Your support will continue that cycle and is helping to save lives as well. Thanks much for helping me to restock the filament we have used to assist with Covid-19 and I look forward to future projects after we're through all of this.

Thank you again, for your support and understanding.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Books for Builders

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

I am excited you have provided these books. Your support helps us learn and grow. The references you have provided will help in many ways. Students can reference the books for their own interests, I can reference these books when helping students and with my own professional development, and inspiration will come from these books for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

  • Locker Room Chaos!

    Funded Mar 1, 2020

No one here can bring themselves to describe how thankful we are to recieve such overwealming support from such wonderful people. It brings me to tears seeing how many people are willing to help these students grow and complete their goals.

People say the world is filled to the brim with horrible selfish people, I object. You all prove that the world still contains a select few good souls, who are pure and help in any way they can. Thank you for everything! And keep shining like beacons of hope for us all!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

  • Add a Touch of Tech to Our Classroom

    Funded May 12, 2019

In the classroom photos this touch screen may seem small, but the impact has been huge. It's not uncommon for a collaboration session with me and my students (and sometimes just my students without me!) to take place right in front of this screen.

The ability to manipulate the screen with touch, and it's near-perfect size makes it easier for more than one person to analyze a cad design, scroll through Spanish errors, or search for information on framing houses.

I'm blessed to be in an amazing school where the class atmosphere feels like a summer camp atmosphere. I'm grateful that you get to be a part of that feeling as well, and look forward to your continued support.

Thanks again for providing this technology improvement to our ever-growing learning environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbercheck

Republic-Michigamme school is a true k-12 neighborhood school in a small, welcoming community. We find it very lucky to call this place home. Students come to my classroom to learn computer-aided design (CAD), industrial skills (including but not limited to carpentry, welding, and small engines), and Spanish. We are a small school yet offer a broad exposure to the world for our students. Our program wouldn't be much to boast about if it wasn't for donors like you. The shop space was shut down, and whole class engagement was tough. Donors helped us get the tools we needed to move forward. Now, we are able to maintain active engagement in many students' interests within CAD, Skilled Trade, and Spanish, and continue to grow with the hope of offering a variety of career pathways for students to explore. At the end of the day, the question isn't, "What subject did I teach?" it's, "What students did I teach?"
