The students really enjoy STEM club and are learning a lot. I am excited to have some new things for the students to do!

Back in Business with STEM Materials
Funded Feb 21, 2020The STEM club students and all the students in the school will really be grateful for the materials in this project. Over time we have had pieces break, and we are using the materials more each year.
These replacements and an add on kit will help get our materials back in order! We have STEM day coming up, it is so important to have the materials that will allow us to use them for career day.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cobb

Dropping in on STEM Learning.
Funded Jul 25, 2019Thank you for helping with this project! We have an active STEM club! We want to use this kit in several ways.
Classrooms each quarter do Genius Hour, during which they explore STEM activities. This kit will work well for that.
We also have a weekly STEM club, and students will be able to access the materials during this time. In addition we have a family STEM night. This year we will have a stations for students and parents to work together on the activities.
Teachers who are teaching the content that is part of the kit will be welcome to use it in their classroom settings also.
It is wonderful when we get materials that can be used in a multitude of settings!
Thank you so much for helping us obtain this kit!”

Funded Nov 4, 2019This project covers so many topics. I use the materials in classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling. The topics covered are crucial to the students.
The materials also provide materials and kinetic sand which helps students that are having problems coping with their day.
Often students are struggling to manage their feelings and need books they can relate to or materials that help them to calm down.
The topics range from anxiety to divorce and bullying. I. am seeing more and more students that struggle with anxiety. Today's society has many challenges. It makes it hard for them to learn when they are anxious.
Often teachers send students to my room to calm down. Having the materials they can manipulate helps them calm down.
Thank you for helping provide materials that help my students.”

An Award Winning Performance!
Funded Dec 11, 2019The students are so excited to get the STEM awards! They love the medals and the dog tags. The students come early one day a week to explore STEM materials and learn new skills.
We hope that these experiences will help encourage students to explore STEM careers in the future. Some of our students also participated in a local Battle of The Brains competition with led to great team work, problem solving, and other skills.
We have a lot of parent helpers which makes the whole experience work. This year we have 65 students in the club. This is way too many for me to manage on my own.
Having something to remember these experiences will be something the students will cherish as they get older.
I do not have a budget, so without this project we would not be able to get the awards.
Thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 17, 2019Thank you so much for helping fund this project. We have seen a lot of improvement in behavior since we started our special procedures to encourage positive behavior, but I was running out of weekly incentives. It is important to have items that the students want to earn in order for them to be effective.
This projects provides a wide variety of incentives so that students can choose something they are interested in. They are eager to have more choices!
I was very thrilled when I saw the project had funded, thank you so much for helping my students!”

Funded Sep 25, 2019Thank you for helping us add to our STEM materials. We needed some that were not tied to technology and focused on some of the engineering and constructing skills.
This project helped provide materials, and some that work well with all grades K-5.
We will use the materials in STEM club which meets once a week, in MakerSpace that classrooms have once a week, our family STEM night, and our Career/STEM day.
These materials will help students with many concepts and also encourage a lot of creativity. It is great when students can have more self-directed experiences. They also work together, and learn from each other. When technology is not involved they tend to interact more with each other.
Thank you for these wonderful materials!”

Funded May 31, 2019It is rare to have an activity that students learn so much and they are begging to do. Of all our STEM materials, OSMO Pizza Delivery is one that is very popular. When they have their weekly makerspace time, students request to use these materials.
In addition, learning money skills the way students are often taught is boring! They do not like it, and they don't relate it to everyday life.
OSMO Pizza Delivery helps students with the concepts of money, making change, and how to work together. As the game speeds up, it makes them think faster!
I have worked hard to make sure we have enough of the materials so that the classes can use them when needed.
Thank you for making learning fun! I am very grateful!”

Funded May 31, 2019Our younger students really want to learn to code and they love Legos and Trains. Lego Coding Express combines all three. The are able to build a train track and then use coding skills to make it go. They learn the relationships that are the basis of coding.
The Train has a lot of different pieces and will allow the students to make lots of different layouts.
I really appreciate your help so that my students are able to explore new skills in a way that in fun and engaging. I hope that they will go on and explore higher level coding skills.
We will have our older STEM students help the younger ones learn how to use the train set. My students love to have the older students help!
We will also be able to use them for family STEM night and our STEM/Career Day!
This will allow parents to also experience the materials, which often leads to parents getting them for their children at home.
Thanks again.”
