Visuals to keep my Preschool and TK students on target!
Funded May 11, 2024Thank you SO MUCH for contributing to my project! The cricut machine has allowed me to provide my students with personalized PE equipment that they were able to use over the summer break to stay active with family and friends. I made several classes frisbees, and beach balls for my younger students. They let me know when we got back to school how much fun they had with them.
I was able to make new throwing targets for my classes with verbal cues for correct throwing technique. We already tried them out and my students were reciting the cues as they practiced...they worked!
I also made poly spots so they know where to stand during class, it's helpful for my students who like to wander to have a physical reminder of where they are supposed to be. It also helps me break them into small groups quickly which gives us more activity time.
Thanks so much! This is just the beginning with the cricut, can't wait to use it more.”

Funded May 16, 2023My students and I are SO grateful for you generous gift. We were able to start using our new equipment at the start of the new school year and it has been a game changer. They are highly motivated by fun equipment and the new equipment you helped me provide for them does the trick! For our warm ups, they get to spin the wheel and select what the class will do. We incorporated dice into the routine and it gives the warm up an element of surprise each time, not knowing how many they will have to do. Will it be 1 push up OR 12?!
Some of my students needs a little extra motivation to get moving. The Stomp Rocket is the ultimate reward for when they complete assigned tasks. This particular stomp rocket is a dual model and you can compete to see whose rocket flies the highest. They are LOVING it!
As you can see in the picture, the yellow trash bin on wheels is helping me get my equipment from class to class. Being able to provide a large variety of equipment keeps the students interested throughout the lessons. It also helps that I don't have to carry it all...my back thanks you :)
Thank you so much for your support, my students are I are so lucky that you chose to help us!”

Funded Feb 23, 2021I can't thank you enough for your contribution to my project. Distance learning was a challenge like no other. I had not planned to teach a whole year virtually with all that it entailed! After so many months using diy equipment it became clear that the kids needed some real equipment. My students and their families were so appreciative of your donation to provide them with the balls. We used them for our lessons each week and continue to use them now that in person learning has resumed. With social distancing still in place it is critical that our kids have their own equipment to use during class. I am so lucky to have your support :) I made sure my students knew how much you care about them!”

Funded Sep 17, 2020I cannot thank you enough! What we thought would be a few months of distance learning has extended into almost a whole year! I included a picture of me demonstrating instruction with socks, baby food bottles, and a hamper to show just how creative I had to get with the lessons. My students would go on scavenger hunts around the house to find objects we could kick, throw, knock down etc. It was actually a pretty fun activity but only using household items limited the instruction I could deliver.
Now we are able to do our yoga lessons on non slipping mats (towels worked ok but on wood floors it wasn't ideal), soccer lessons with balls instead of stuffed animals, throwing lessons with bean bags instead of crumpled paper, and bowling lessons with balls instead of socks! I tried to capture a snapshot of what zoom Adapted PE looks like. We follow along with some fun yoga lessons online and I also film myself and my husband guiding the kids through skills. I have to pre-tape myself or else I'd burn out teaching all day while watching a one year old! My husband and I both teach APE via zoom everyday while juggling the little one!
I wish I could have gotten better pictures for you. They were SO EXCITED to receive the equipment bags. I got wonderful emails from parents and I made sure they knew that none of it would have been possible without my family, friends, and donors choose donors who don't even know me or their children!”

Funded Feb 2, 2012I can't believe this school year is over! I made it...but not without all of your generous support! This transition to a new job was challenging, but even more rewarding. I love what I am doing! My students amaze me every day and I have so much fun coming up with creative ways to get them moving and enjoying physical activity.
Because of your donations we received so much fun equipment, which we have been using on a daily basis. I hope these pictures give you a little glimpse of what a day in our life looks like.

We Need to Move and Groove Outside
Funded Jan 15, 2012I just wanted to let you know how much I've loved using the Bose Wireless Speaker that I received because of your generous donations! My students have shown increased amount of time on task because they are so engaged with the lessons that are tied to the music I've been playing on the speaker. We use it from warm up to cool down each and every day! Their faces light up when the music comes on and they know what is coming up next in the lesson because the music gives them cues. It's been amazing! We take the music out to the yard, the field, the auditorium, or wherever we need to have class. We are no longer limited to music only when we are near an outlet. I hope the pictures convey just how much they appreciate your gift.
I cannot thank you enough!”

Funded Jan 12, 2012The year is almost over and I wanted to give you all an update on how your generous donations have impacted my teaching and my students! I want to thank you all again for your support and love throughout this transition into my new job. It has been a learning experience for sure! You guys provided me with a tool that both made my job easier (attendance, grade books, progress monitoring) as well as enhanced the classroom experience for my kids.
The tablet allowed me to stream music from Pandora which gave our learning environment fun! Their eyes would light up when their favorite songs came on when we were playing. I also was able to show the students clips from youtube...for example, we played seated volleyball in order to accommodate for some of our students with physical disabilities and I was able to show them a game on the tablet before we played. They loved it!
This year I also took on the job of coaching the Special Ed Track Team. I was able to keep track of their times on the tablet and show them how their times improved each week...and boy did they! One of my athletes came in 4th place in the CIF city finals!
My favorite part of the tablet is the apps! I was able to purchase apps that the students could use in physical education. The one I use most often is used with my students who do not have the ability to produce language. We took pictures of the kids holding equipment and would record their voices naming the different objects. When a student wants a specific piece of equipment they can formulate a sentence on the tablet by selecting pictures and the app will read it, essentially give their thoughts a voice.
I can't thank you enough!”
