  • Creating A Calm and Welcoming Classroom

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Through your donations, I was able to provide my students with a calm and welcoming learning environments. Changing out my wallpaper and borders has given me plenty of space to showcase student work and the students have loved seeing their amazing work up. Switching out my rug has also made a huge difference. My previous rug was handed down to me from a retiring teacher, and this new rug has brought my students such great joy! This rug has provided space for my students to sit and learn, class discussion, and collaborate with classmates. The added decor, plants, lamps, light covers, and paper, have all contributed to a welcoming learning environment. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

  • Showing the World to Kids Through Non-Fiction Texts

    Funded Dec 13, 2011

To all the generous donors who contributed to my classroom, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.

My students were so thrilled to see these new books in our classroom library! Every book in each level has been "checked out" and stored in their "just right" book bin. The vivid photographs, engaging text, and rich vocabulary has captured their attention! My students are very excited to share new information they have learned from the books and have requested to take books home to read with their family.

The books have also allowed for great discussions in our Readers Workshop mini-lessons as well as a great stepping stone for our science lessons.

My students and I thank you once again.

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Park

In the district where I work, many of the students that I teach are second-language learners, on free or reduced lunch, and from lower-income neighborhoods. As such, most of them have never had the luxury of experiencing first-hand traveling to a different country, swimming in the ocean, or seeing exotic zoo animals.
