  • Books, Beats, and a Lemur to Lead the Way!

    Funded May 6, 2025

Music brings joy and so do donors like you! I'm so excited to launch the new year with Lazlo the Lemur to kick off the fourth grade music experience. Our fourth graders learn to read music by playing the recorder and Lazlo Learns Recorder is a terrific book to ease their minds about playing a wrong note or a squeaky tune. Having a lemur plushie to cheer them on will make the experience even more memorable. Another perk to this project is the Yamaha recorder to have on hand for anyone who forgets their recorder on music day. It's always super to have a spare. Music will be marvelous this year thanks for you!

Along with music making our hearts sing, books do the same thing! The Hooky graphic novel series is tattered and torn because my fourth graders absolutely love it. This new set of the book series will bring joy for years to come and make many more hearts sing. Thank you for everything you do for teachers and students to make learning magical. We appreciate you!”

  • Energized to the Kore

    Funded Jul 11, 2025

We're feeling energized to start the new school year thanks to generous donors like you! My fourth graders love flexible seating options and this Kore Wobble stool is the perfect height for these kiddos. Plus, the Chromebook chargers are an added bonus to recharge when our batteries run low. Thank you for making our classroom a comfortable place for my learners.”

  • Math, Masterpieces, and Messes!

    Funded May 8, 2025

Donors like you are a dream come true! Thank you for bringing our project to life so my fourth graders can be inspired by artists as we mix math, history, and art masterfully to create memorable learning experiences.

Books open windows to the world and inspire my learners to create art as well as embrace challenges so they may overcome them. The books about Picasso and his life as an artist will be the perfect pairing for our self-portraits next year. The need for these books arose when we created self-portraits this year and I realized I didn't have one single book about Picasso for inspiration. Problem solved! Now we have several.

Inspirations isn't everything. We're also grateful for the art supplies to make our art projects possible. Quality paints and watercolor paper make our art stand out and stand the test of time. Plus the carpet cleaner is a lifesaver when unexpected spills occur. Thank you for your kindness and generosity to make art a reality in our fourth grade classroom!”

  • The Pure Joy of Reading

    Funded Apr 1, 2025

The pure joy of reading plus the pure joy of generous donors like you make the world a better place! Thank you for helping us get beautiful books and fun fidgets to bring joy to many. My fourth graders are motivated to read when they're surrounded by books worth reading as well as rewards for meeting milestones.

One of my fourth graders in particular gobbles up graphic novels. She realized while reading The Cartoonists Club, that we have most of the books on our graphic novel shelf that reflect the illustration in the book. It was fun for her to arrange the books and see the parallels to the book. Graphic novels are a big hit in our fourth grade classroom for sure!

Reading is a cherished time in our classroom for us to have a shared experience, make connections, and learn about the world we live in. Books such as Gifts from the Garbage Truck: A True Story About the Things We (Don't) Throw Away opened my students' minds to the endless possibilities for treasures that others view as trash and how dreams can inspire others to make a difference.

Thank you for making a difference in our classroom! We are grateful for you!”

You make our wishes come true! Thank you! We are grateful for your kindness and generosity to fill our bookshelves with books that reflect my readers and fill their hearts with joy. Surrounding my fourth graders with beloved books makes reading irresistible. Thank you for supporting teachers like me to encourage a love for reading!”

  • Positivity for Success

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

Your kindness and generosity positively made a difference during the state testing season in our fourth grader classroom! My fourth graders had a positive experience which definitely makes a difference in doing their best on the test to be successful and show what they know.

The sweet and savory snacks were a game changer! My students loved being able to choose a snack that would keep them focused and fill their tummies with yummies while taking the test. Turns out Mini Oreo snack packs are the top pic among my fourth graders. Although one of my students said the RITZ Bits Cheese Crackers are his favorite because the cheese is really soft and melty like magma. There's something to strike everyone's fancy thanks to donors like you!

The book Mathsketball: A Story of Test Anxiety was a perfect fit to read aloud leading up to the math portion of the testing session. As we read the book as a class, my fourth graders were able to share the areas that make them anxious when they encounter a math test as well as affirm those who feel comfortable and confident in that area. The opportunity to discuss and share allows my learners to realize others share the same feelings when it comes to taking a math test.

Thank you for helping me create and provide a positive testing environment for my fourth graders to have a positive outlook on the testing experience as they show what they know! We appreciate you!”

  • Whoo Knew? An Eye Opening Experience

    Funded May 9, 2025

Who knew picking apart owl pellets could be such an eye opening experience for my fourth graders? What a way to make learning come alive for my students and for them to see themselves as scientists! The Stainless Steel Surgical trays were the perfect palette to pick apart the pellets. One of my students had this experience at his former school in third grade but he said this was a step up because they just used paper plates. The steel trays helped keep all of the bones in one place with no spills. The tweezers and teasing needles helped my scientists get to the nitty gritty of what the owl had for dinner. Putting quality tools in the hands of my learners helps them feel like a true scientist!

Along with the eye opening dissection experience my students were also amazed by the Human Eye Anatomy Model. As we learned about how the eye works, my learners were able to grasp the concepts we had learned about with the extra large model. The icing on the cake was my daughter, who is in the nursing program at SDSU, coming in and talking about the parts of the eye with my fourth graders and connecting to her experience at the university level.

We appreciate your support to make learning come alive with hands on activities so my students can see themselves as scientists! Thank you!”

  • Music Makes the World Go Round

    Funded Apr 9, 2025

Music makes the world go round just as donors like you do too! You make our world a better place and our classroom an engaging space. The books in this project fill my fourth graders hearts and minds with joyful melodies as they connect with the characters who have music in their heart and soul. From playful picture books with cute characters, to inspirational true stories, to graphic novels with complex characters, my readers are able to laugh and sigh as they read to make sense of the world around them. Books make our classroom a more beautiful place to be!

The music theme vinyl stickers plus the kids keychains give my students choices to represent themselves with the swag they choose as they meet milestones. Whether it be the color, style, or a catch phrase, these little trinkets allow my learners to express themselves.

Books bring out the beauty in the world around us and allow my readers to make connections as they follow their passions for learning and music. Thank you for all you do to support teachers, classrooms, and students. We are grateful for you!”

  • So Many Books, So Little Time!

    Funded Apr 10, 2025

Our classroom library wouldn't be as amazing as it is without the support of donors like you! There's no doubt about it, my fourth graders love to read. One reason I believe they love reading time in fourth grade is because of the books we have in our classroom library. Our classroom actually feels like a library seeing that shelves are filled and surround us will irresistible books. The title says it all...so many books, so little time! We're doing are best to squeeze in all the reading time we can before we wrap up our school year together. Rest assured my students can return next year to continue to check out books!

From beautiful picture books like Giant Rays of Hope to Show Me History graphic novels, my fourth graders have learned to read and now they're reading to learn about topics they're interested in. From biographies to biodiversity...there's no limit to learning!

Thank you for bringing so much joy to our classroom through your kindness and generosity. You truly make a difference in the reading lives of my learners.”
